I'm not sure if I've done something to karmically shift my usual good luck with animals but at least I was not alone today in my confoundment. For some reason today my team and I were swarmed with semi-aggressive ladybugs. I kid you not. As we are usually bombarded by flies it took us a while to notice that this was a different insect all together, but once we did there was no stopping the critters. There was not a body orifice that did not interest them. There was not a moment throughout the day that they weren't clinging to hats, scarves, shirts, pants, pens (as we were using them), notebook pages or clipboards. And they weren't just hanging out. No. They defied shoo-ing or swatting and actually crossed normal bug boundary lines. I had to sneeze one out of a nostril and almost swallowed another. At one point I counted over 15 just on my colleague's hat!
I can honestly say that this is a first for me. My initial joy at finding such a lucky bug shifted rapidly as I ducked and dodged the incoming. The sturdy suckers even survived the very windy car ride home and I found a few on my bag once I returned to the house. I'm wondering if this is a seasonal event in the Egyptian countryside or if my group was especially singled out for a "retribution on humans" day. One would not expect such a thought process in the minds of the usually docile and cheerful LADYbug.
Perhaps tomorrow will bring the universe back into alignment.
